Sabbat Wisdom

Samhain marks the Celtic New Year and the beginning of winter. This is the third and final harvest - the slaughter of animals for winter survival. Most importantly, this is when the veil between worlds is thinnest, allowing communication with the dead and spirit world. It's a time to honor ancestors, accept death as part of life, and embrace transformation. The origins of modern Halloween come from Samhain traditions of warding off spirits and honoring the dead.

The three harvests of the wheel: Samhain is the third and last.
